Spring Meeting

One of the most exciting events of the year is the the Miss Arkansas' Teen & Miss Arkansas Spring Meeting and Show Me Your Hat scholarship competition, which took place this past weekend in Hot Springs, AR. The Miss Arkansas Organization is proud to partner with Oaklawn Hot Springs, which hosts our annual meeting and sponsors several major scholarships.

Fun Fact: The first Miss Arkansas pageant was held at Oaklawn in 1958!

We are excited to give you the inside scoop of what a day at Spring Meeting looks like!

Upon arriving, each titleholder completes their check-in and provides hard copies of paperwork and headshots. Everyone then moves into the meeting room for breakfast and a morning full of information from our State Director, Foundation Board and state titleholders. One of the most anticipated bits of information that we learn at this meeting is the name and background information for each of the judges for the state pageant in June. It also provides opportunity for parents, titleholders, directors, etc. to ask all the questions. After the meeting concludes, the girls move to the front of Oaklawn for a group photo in their hats. The day concludes with Family Fun Day. Each titleholder and their families are invited to enjoy the remainder of the horse races and socialize on the infield!

The Show Me Your Hat competition is a fairly new tradition to Spring Meeting. The wide range of hat designs are always so fun! Some choose designs based on their personal style, while some will try to embrace messages related to their CSI or other missions. Two titleholders (one teen and one miss) are selected as winners and are presented a scholarship during Family Fun Day.

We are so proud of each of our Arkansas Valley & Johnson County girls! Their hats embraced some of their biggest passions, and they each looked so cute while wearing them.
