The Four Points of the Crown

One of the long-standing beliefs of the Miss America Organization is that each point of the crown represents a characteristic that a titleholder should embody. Style, scholarship, service and success are the four foundational elements that, in my opinion, make the Miss America Opportunity unique and not your typical "beauty pageant." In more recent years, titleholders across the nation have also started including the "circle" of sisterhood as a fifth element.
The 2025 Miss Arkansas Valley & Johnson County titleholders have expanded on each point and what it means to them.

Style:
"Style is a powerful way for you to express who you are, your values, and the message you want to share with the world! In the Miss America Organization, style isn't just about fashion - it's about how you carry yourself, the confidence you exude, and the authenticity you bring to every interaction. I believe style deserves its place on the Miss America crown because it represents the power of authenticity, the influence of confidence and the ability to leave a lasting impact! For me, style isn't about fitting a mold - it's about standing out while staying true to who I am! As someone who is faith-driven, passion about education, and ambitious in my career, I see style as a way to visually and emotionally communicate my values. Whether I'm advocating for children's literacy, stepping into a professional setting, or walking onto the pageant stage, my style is a reflection of my purpose, may passions, and the message that I want to share with everyone!"

Scholarship:
“Scholarship is the cornerstone of the Miss America Organization, making it truly unique and impactful. It represents far more than financial assistance, it’s a gateway to opportunity, independence, and empowerment. Through the scholarships provided, I have the freedom to take control of my education and decide my own future. Money no longer dictates the boundaries of where I can go or what I can achieve. Instead, I can dream big, knowing that this program provides the tools to turn those dreams into reality.
For me, the scholarships mean the possibility of graduating debt-free, a gift that allows me to focus fully on my academic and professional goals without the weight of financial strain. Beyond the monetary value, the Miss America Organization equips me with a lifetime of invaluable skills: confidence in interviews, the ability to present myself with poise, time management, and adaptability. From public speaking to networking, I am building a foundation of qualities that will carry me far beyond the competition stage.
Being part of this organization also reinforces the idea that women can achieve their dreams through hard work, determination, and support. It empowers me to break barriers, invest in my future, and become a role model for others who aspire to do the same. The scholarships and life skills I gain here aren’t just preparing me for a career, they’re preparing me for a life of purpose, leadership, and service.”

Service:
“
Service to me means helping others in my community in any way possible. I believe that it is very important to titleholders in the Miss America Organization because there are so many people struggling in the world today and young women in the Miss America Organization are willing to step up and support the needs of those people in any way possible. All titleholders have a Community Service Initiative and the majority of them are centered around helping other people such as veterans, people with disabilities, people suffering with cancer, less fortunate people who can’t afford daily needs, etc. Overall, there are so many people who need help and the Miss America Organization acts as a stepping stool to allow you to reach even more people than you would without a title.”
  • Miss Arkansas Valley’s Teen 2025, Makayla Harrell

Success:
“
Success is a point of the crown because everyone with or without a title works hard. No matter if you walk away with a crown or not, you win in experience, and that is success!”
